2 Sweet and Sour Chicken

Enjoy the mixed flavor of sweet and sour chicken

Product of Taikoo Sugar:

Taikoo Okinawa Black Sugar Powder 

Ingredients:

Boneless chicken thighs (1 pc)
Onion (½ pc)
Green bell pepper (½ pc)

Sauce:

White vinegar (5 tbsp)
Water (5 tbsp)
Ketchup (3 tbsp)
Chicken powder (1 tsp)
Taikoo Okinawa Black Sugar Powder (3 ½ tbsp)

Marinade:

Chicken powder (1 tsp)
Salt (½ tsp)
Taikoo Okinawa Black Sugar Powder (½ tsp)
Cornstarch (1 tsp)

Directions:

  1. Cut chicken thighs into 12 pieces. Dice onion and bell pepper.
  2. Pour water and sauce ingredients into a pan. Cook over low heat until everything dissolves and thickens. Set aside.
  3. Marinate chicken thighs for 30 mins. Bath chicken thighs in egg yolk and then coat it with cornstarch.
  4. Deep fry chicken thighs until golden brown in medium heat. Drain off excess oil.
  5. Add onions and other ingredients into a pan and stir fry until fragrant.  Add the sauce into the pan and pour in chicken pieces. Make sure the chicken pieces are coated with the sweet and sour sauce.
